Fossil Fuels pt. 2
Biden's environmental plan calls for the elimination of fossil fuel power generation by 2035, to be replaced with green alternatives. At the same time he wants to expand the use of electric cars. Approximately 63% of the nations power is produced by fossil fuel. In areas where solar panels are effective, it requires between 5-7 acres per megawatt of production. In Texas, a megawatt will serve approximately 500 homes. A summertime peak in Texas is approximately 72,000+mw and growing; the addition of electric cars will significantly expand that demand. If 20,000mw is produced by solar it will require 130,000 to 140,000 acres of solar panels. A 1,000mw Natural Gas plant can be built on less than 100 acres, so that same 20,000mw can be, and currently is being, generated with natural gas on less than 2,000 acres spread all over the state instead of just the best solar production locations. This is not taking into account the amount of acres of windmills required.
Windmills and solar panels cannot just be located where the demand is. They are often far away from the load which will require a huge increase in transmission lines. This is just talking about Texas that already has a tremendous amount of green energy. There is only one result in pursuing Biden's 2035 goal and that is replacing a reliable electric grid with an unreliable one. The rolling blackouts in California are coming to your town. Taking control of energy is the first step in a transition to socialism; that has happened in every country that has turned socialist.
To add one thing. When Trump is re-elected he needs to do away with every green energy subsidy that is paid through tax credits. Tax credits keep green energy prices artificially low. The American people should understand the true cost of green energy, so they can decide whether it is worth it.
