Green Energy

What do green energy and fatherless homes have in common? Sorry folks, these are the places my mind travels. In 1964, LBJ introduced his his agenda in the form of "The Great Society" It was a plan to end poverty, which is a great goal. Unfortunately, according to Democrats, it was an agenda that could only be accomplished through government intervention rather than individual initiative. The only way that poverty could end, according to this agenda, was for the government, sometimes known as the American taxpayer, to subsidize poverty through welfare payments. Here was the catch, a mother could get welfare for every child she had but the only way she could do that is if there was no male head of household. Now doesn't that make perfect sense! In a time when opportunities for women, as well as pay, was well below those for men, the government promised to pay for there to not be a male, father, in the home. What was created from this plan more poverty, more crime, and lost opportunities due to no father being left in the home. Even in hindsight, there are some who still thinks this was a great idea and needs to be expanded.

Fast forward to current times. Many in government have decided that the US should carry more of a burden to "clean up the environment and save the world" than any other country, disregarding the fact we have one of the cleanest environments of any industrialized nation and the fact that our nation has the best air quality we have had in the last 30-50 years. How do these proponents of clean environment plan to do that? By government, sometimes called the American taxpayer, subsidizing green power production such as wind, solar and electric vehicles. Fortunately for these green heroes, most people have no clue how much of what we have is made of fossil fuels, so the idea of producing inefficient, unreliable power and increasing electric vehicles that are 50% plastic (plastic is made from oil), seems like a great idea. When they throw in the idea of killing those oil and gas industries that are making certain people rich, that is icing on the cake. What is the problem with subsidizing green energy? Taxpayers are paying to replace reliable electricity (fossil fuel generated) for unreliable electricity (solar and wind) and in the process seeing the price of power go down in most places. That seems like a good thing, but the reason the price of power is cheaper is because government subsidies are keeping them artificially low. How do I know green energy is unreliable? Look at California and the rolling blackouts. There is a reason there are rolling blackouts and they are going to get worse. (look up the term "Duck Curve"). One of these days, especially with The Green New Deal, renewable energy will be our only option and the subsidies will be taken away, as well as the reliable power grid, and our costs will go up significantly for a service that is less reliable. Why will prices go up? Because the ratepayer will be paying the TRUE cost of green energy. The good part about this is it will cause more poverty, which will create a need for a New Great Society, which will create more dependence on government welfare, which will create a need for the liberal agenda to continue.
