Is There Fire in the Smartmatic Smoke
Updated: Jun 25, 2022
The controversy around the company Smartmatic has been around for many years. I have included a report written in June of 2008 by a guy named John Bonifaz. John is a Democrat and even wrote a book called Warrior King: The Case For Impeaching Gorge W. Bush; a Republican he is not. He wrote this report out of national security concerns involving the Smartmatic software. It is 13 pages long, but the pages are short due to many footnotes; you should read it all. By the way, in order to find this report in my Google search I had to reach back 5 or 6 pages. The following is a quote from within the report made jointly by James Baker and Jimmy Carter when they were co-chairs of the National Election Commission: [t]he greater threat to most systems comes not from external hackers, but from insiders who have direct access to the machines. Software can be modified maliciously before being installed into individual voting machines. There is no reason to trust insiders in the election industry any more than in other industries, such as gambling, where sophisticated insider fraud has occurred despite extraordinary measures to prevent it.
While reading the report pay attention to the name Hart Intercivic. Hart Intercivic is used in many counties ,with one of those being Tarrant County. Tarrant County turned blue for the first time this year. In 2018, Tarrant County hired Heider Garcia as their election administrator. Mr. Garcia is a Venezuelan and former employee of Smartmatics for 12 years and actually testified before the Phillippine Congress in 2010 concerning irregularities with Smartmatics equipment in their election.
Is any of this proof election fraud took place? Obviously, the answer is no, but the track record of this company does not help alleviate concerns some may have. There is for sure evidence of fraud, such as statistical analysis. In every election statistical analysis is performed to determine of there are any anomalies in the expected vote count curve. When those anomalies are found, as they were this election, it does not mean fraud happened but it does give an exact place to start investigating in order to confirm or rule out fraud. When you hear from politicians there is not one piece of evidence of election fraud, that is a complete lie; whether that evidence will meet the burden of proof is unknown.
