One of the most famous news events was Walter Cronkite informing Americans that their President had been killed by an assassin. The news broke into "As The World Turns". My mom watched that soap opera and it took big news to interrupt that show. This news was devastating news, and, for anybody close to my age and older, we have seen replays of Cronkite's news break many times. Cronkite presented himself as the people's newsman. When he broke in with that terrible news, he did so as if he were the dad of every citizen watching, and he was having to compassionately share something horrible. He presented that news as a devastated American who had just lost HIS President. Fast forward to today and we have no newsmen, and we have no MSM that belongs to the people. The communist governments of China, Russia, and North Korea have always controlled what the people can see and hear. Our government does not have to do that. When we were kids the government stepped in and really did censor what most people considered immoral; if Carol Burnett said hell in her show everybody watching would laugh in shock. Sitcom married couples did not even sleep in the same bed, and biased news people tried to give the appearance of being neutral, and just gave the news. In America today, there is no need for the government to control what is being fed to the people, because the MSM is doing that; morality is not a factor. At one time if a news report broke that talked about the son, whole family, of the VP using his position to make millions, every news organization would have instantly, no matter their political leaning, jumped in to validate/invalidate the story. Our MSM censors it, ignores it, and our biggest social media platforms completely block the mention of it. Believe it or not, there are many people who have never heard, in any kind of detail, the corruption of the Biden family. It isn't only Hunter, Biden's brother got a government contract to build 100,000 homes in Iraq; the guy had never built a house in his life, they have not heard this because the MSM has decided they do not want to share it. As much as we want to believe we can never be controlled, that is exactly what is happening. For those people who say they will never take my guns, they will never prevent me from speaking freely, and they cannot restrict my religious beliefs, that day is arriving; censoring our speech and restricting worship is already happening. One day, whether it is this year or twenty years from now, when the socialists get their way, they are not going to ask us to give up our freedom and safety, they will take it from us using tactics far worse than those that are currently causing protests in the streets, using a more fair "community police force" (because the current police officers, who live in and are actively involved with their communities, will never do what they will want done) and we will all watch the MSM tell us the government is doing it so that we can be free and safe, and we will reminisce about the times when we used to own guns and worship in public. When they ask us how they were able to take all that from us we can say, "they didn't take it, we gave it away".
