Restricting Our Freedoms
Freedom restrictions are being applied in the name of health based on studies performed to get to the answer the administers are looking for. The attached story is a great example of that being done. The LA Dept of Public Health made a decision to continue to restrict restaurants due to the attached study that found the participants who tested positive were twice as likely to have dined out than those who tested negative. If you take the time to read the study you will find that the study was done in July. As we know, new information comes quickly when COVID is the subject, so a study 4 months old is outdated. Another thing is there were only a little over 300 participants involved in the study, over 10 states. These were participants who volunteered; the study started with over 800, but was scaled down for different reasons to the final sample. One thing to remember about studies is they are performed with an end result in mind, and whoever is paying for the study has a better chance of getting the results they want. So my point is decisions are being made that restricts our freedoms and destroys small businesses by people who have probably read nothing more than the results of the study, within the first paragraph of the study findings, and are using that study to prove what they already believe. One of the board members made it very clear why they want to restrict these businesses when she said our health officials have inspected restaurants and many are not following our rules. Overreaching government! We ain't seen nothing yet, folks!
