SCOTUS - Justice Alito

The MSM and many in the Democratic party are accusing SCOTUS Justice Alito of delivering controversial remarks to the 2020 National Lawyers Convention sponsored by The Federalist Society. There are many Democrats, including Nancy Pelosi, who have accused Alito of bigotry and hate speech. They accuse him of politicizing the court. What did he say that is so controversial? One of his comments, the one being attacked as bigotry, is that those with religious beliefs, primarily Christians, who are in disagreement with gay marriage and abortion have a right to publicly express and even exercise their right as long as the exercising of their rights do not hinder those with opposing views to exercise theirs. To the Democrats who have criticized these comments that is cultural blasphemy, there is no room for one to have a belief, and especially exercise that belief, in our society. These are the same people who threatened to pack the court if Biden won and Barrett was confirmed. The SCOTUS was created to be our constitutional special forces, they were created to be the ones that hold the necessary weapon to protect the rights of ALL U.S. CITIZENS, no matter who is in power. Alito's comments start at 15:40 and go through the end of the attached video. Every person reading this, especially those Christians who do not believe their votes will allow their rights to worship to be taken away, should watch this video. In 1990, there was a law passed by Congress and signed by Clinton called the RFRA of 1990, this law passed unanimously in the House and with 97 Senate votes. It was written to protect freedom of religion. Interestingly, a lawsuit filed between the City of Boerne, Tx and the Catholic church there, over the construction of a new building, brought a ruling by the SCOTUS that the Federal Law overstepped its boundaries with the states. It is still law on the Federal level and was used in Hobby Lobby's suit concerning providing contraception. The point he makes about this law is we have moved a long way in the wrong direction, when it comes to religious liberty, since 1990. You owe it to yourself to watch this video. I believe we have to educate ourselves on what our vote does for the future of our rights. We have people in office who absolutely cannot stand the Constitution and want to destroy the power of the last line of defense, the SCOTUS, in protecting it. Almost 80M people voted for a Presidential candidate that refused to say whether he would pack the court or not. The people who want to pack the court honestly believe Christianity is nothing more than an excuse for bigotry and hatred. I will repeat what I have said before, when near future generations ask why they took our rights away we will be able to say, "they didn't, we gave them away with our votes even after those candidates promised to take action that would result in those rights being taken away". Every word of Alito's comments are worth watching.
