Selling Darkness
Updated: Oct 6, 2022
A number of times we have heard Joe Biden say “We are heading into a dark winter” and in the Georgia Senate debate Warnock, who is a pastor, started his closing statement with “We are in dark times”. Why is darkness the one thing that Democrats will always guarantee? I believe the Washington Post does a good job of explaining this in the heading of each paper, The Washington Post - Democracy Dies in Darkness. Have you ever heard a Democrat promise light? Have you ever heard them promise to lead us into light? Have you ever heard them say America is a light in this dark world? The answer is no, because they want us to follow them into the darkness. To me that is very interesting, because they believe the humanitarian thing to do is to open the flood gates of illegal immigrations so that people can rush into this pit of darkness. There was a great man, a Savior, who understood the contrast between darkness and light and taught that darkness and light do not co-exist. This man is quoted in the New Testament in John 12:35: Then Jesus told them, “You are going to have the light just a little while longer. Walk while you have the light, before darkness overtakes you. Whoever walks in the dark does not know where they are going.” In the very next sentence he encouraged those of us who follow him to believe in the light, while we still have it, so that we can be children of the light. I know a person who has a large cave on his property, when you walk just a short distance into that cave darkness consumes everything, it swallows all light. If you have a small flashlight you still can’t see anything because the darkness is too overpowering. The only way to overcome that darkness would be to just fill that cave with light, powerful light, that reaches into every crevice. Darkness and light cannot co-exist in that cave nor can it in our personal lives or in the life of our nation, only one can prevail. We all should know the guide that promises to lead us into darkness will only take us farther into that darkness.
Why have many in our nation chosen to follow those who promise darkness? The reason is our nation, for many years, has been conditioned to believe that darkness is light and light is darkness, and the conditioning has happened so that we may choose to walk in the dark so that we do not know where we are going. If everybody could see where we are going, nobody would choose to go there.
The following is a video of Ronald Reagan’s 1989 farewell address, it is 21:29 long. Please watch every minute of it, because it will be time well spent. President Reagan reminded us of what our nation really stands for. For those who have followed the guides into the darkness and have been conditioned to believe that we are a slave nation rather than a nation that ended slavery, that masculinity is toxic and gender confusion is virtue, that the idea of traditional families is closed minded and bigoted, that the idea of keeping order through law enforcement is not justice but destroying communities through murder, assault, rioting and looting is, who believes creating wealth is larceny but taking from the wealthy is benevolent, and that patriotism is repulsive but hating one’s nation is enlightenment, you really need to listen to every word. Our nation has always been a light to the world, but so many in this nation want to rewrite history so that our nation can only be described as a chasm of darkness rather than a light upon the hill.
