The Democratic Ticket
Well, if you are a hardcore Democrat, who will vote Democrat no matter who is running on the ticket, you should be giddy this morning; we now have the Democratic ticket. We now have the Biden/Harris ticket. Biden has ran for President two other times. In 1984 he received one delegate (.03% of the total delegates) count at the Democratic Convention and tied for last. He came in way behind Walter Mondale, Gary Hart, and Jesse Jackson. In 1988 he gave it another shot and improved his delegate count by 100% with 2 delegates and came in way behind Michael Dukakis (think about that, the Democrats have chosen somebody who was beaten by Dukakis) and Jesse Jackson. This primary season he was not even showing up until the DNC finally stepped up and helped him out. Even before he was given the nod by the DNC, he assured us that he would pick the best VP candidate possible from a very short list of women of color. Less than a week ago a group of Black men leaders had to write him a letter reminding him of that when he started taking a look at Witmer, Gov. of Michigan. Now we have Harris as the VP pick. For the first time ever in the history of ever (Debbie Low-Conway) we have a presidential candidate picking a running mate that every person believes will be President in the first term. That is pretty unbelievable when you think about it. One thing about Harris is she did come in at a solid 5th or 6th in the primaries behind Biden, Sanders, Sanders, Buttigieg, and maybe Klobuchar, so she is solid (she did beat Beto). There is one thing she brings to the ticket immediately. Every criticism thrown at her will be called racist and misogynistic; to the Democratic party that brings real value. There are three questions I have since Harris is now Biden's running mate:
Does she still think Biden is a racist?
Does she still believe the women who have accused Biden of inappropriate touching and sexual assault? I know this was her primary view but I am not so sure she still holds those views.
Does Biden remember who he picked as his running mate?
