The Perfect Counselor

JESUS CHRIST MUST BE CRUCIFIED.....AGAIN! There are political ideologies that demand this to happen. There are certain types of government rule, socialism and eventually communism, that cannot allow there to be a living God. Why is this so? The following scripture makes it impossible for Jesus Christ to exist under the rule of these governments:

Proverbs 3:5-6 (NIV)

5 Trust in the Lord with all your heart

and lean not on your own understanding;

6 in all your ways submit to him,

and he will make your paths straight.

When we trust in the Lord with ALL our heart, that leaves no room for us to place our trust in government to solve all our issues. When we completely trust in the Lord for our joy, our hope, our change, our needs, our confidence, our fulfillment, our daily decisions and provisions, and our victory there is not a need for government to fulfill those things. Before we vote we need to decide in whom we will place our trust. Once we drop our ballot, the decision will be made for us.

For certain policies, there is absolutely a need for American citizens, especially Christians, to lean on their own understanding. When we lean on our own understanding we put more value on unfettered entitled rights than we do on the cost of sin, we value a choice more than we do a life, we put more value in funding the poor rather than lifting people out of poverty, and we put more value in being a victim rather than fighting for people to become victors.

If we submit to him, we will not allow ourselves to submit to any other god. For Christians, we have a jealous God. He is not consumed with human jealousy that creates envy and strife, but a jealousy that does not allow Him to stand by and share our hearts as a residence for both He and sin. There is also no room in our hearts for other gods, even if that god is government.

If He makes our path straight, there are no blind corners. Blind corners come from us taking our eyes off that path, which I do often. Our society offers us many things in which to focus other than the straight path. In society, blind corners are necessary in order to allow some to offer a map to get us back on track. Unfortunately, many of those maps are full of nothing more than additional blind corners.

IMO, this election is not about one man, it is about a direction our country will go. This is not one of those posts saying there is no way you are a Christian if you vote for ........ I cannot say that, because in my flawed life, with my actions, there are many things people could point and say there is no way you are a Christian if you do that. I have made it a point to not mention any candidates name, but what I am saying is as Christians, we need to ask ourselves, before we vote, which ideology is more likely to restrict our ability to trust in the Lord with all our heart, because that ideology may require our trust to be placed in government. The answer to that question is far more important than whether we like one person over another. All candidates in every election are flawed, so there is no perfect candidate, but we, as Christians, do have a perfect Counselor.
