Watching It Happen

This is an interesting article but we should really be paying attention to the 3rd paragraph:

Since China is considered a developing economy and the United States is a developed economy, Chinese corporations are subject to less strict guidelines on green and equity initiatives, putting American companies at a disadvantage, according to Hild.

In the Paris Accord that Obama got us into, Trump got us out of because he said it stacked the cards against the US, and Biden immediately got us right back into, it labels China as a "Developing" country, as if China is 3rd world. Because it is Developing it does not fall under the same guidelines as Developed nations, such as the US. There are even requirements that developed nations help finance emission reductions of developing nations. The Green Energy initiative in the US is not about saving the world from human caused global warming, it is an attack on capitalism and nothing more. If there were true concerns about our environment, our government would completely lock down any products from nations that were heavy emitters, China being the main one, just like they shut down travel from nations that were hot spots for Covid. They would not worry about the short term impact if they were really fearful of long term destruction, which according to people like AOC is not even long term since she says we only have 12 years to live. If these policy makers really thought we had a short time left would they mandate us buying solar panels and batteries which are built with rare earth metals that require mining that is very destructive to the environment and are built in nations that are heavy emitters. As I said earlier, saving the environment is not the goal of the Green Energy initiative, destroying capitalism is. The best place to rock the foundation of capitalism in the US is the fossil fuel industry through a transformation of energy. We paid the true price for green energy during Winter Storm Uri, but it was only a down payment. Our policy makers are trading reliable, inexpensive energy for very costly, unreliable energy (energy of all kinds) and we are all just standing by and watching it happen. One day when we look for who to blame all we will have to do is look in the mirror.
